i think your wrong.. Make that i know

Character deletion comes, your char1.char file will be deleted and then restarted. Only way to fix this is to back up your characters frequently. Restarting where you lost your stuff will not. And personally, i think when a dev says "Backup your characters" instead of something more usefull, is yeah...

And what you said was FAR more useful. Look, at this point, the only thing that can save you is a backup copy of the original file. What most people already do is backup thier characters on a regular basis via a batch file, or maybe even doing it manually. MS:C will auto-maticly backup your character(s), aswell as preventing them from being improperly saved.

Why do you have to be so negative?

It's how it works, it's a bug. There is no way to fix it once it happens, unless you backup a character.

Bullshit. How did you get your deleted character back without using a backup, because I highly doubt you found a way, when people who've been here for 3 years are firmly convinced there is no way around it.

If this is the same backup system he implimented in 1.3, I managed to corrupt my backup once.

Not sure if I was using developing cvars or not, though, but it backed up my corrupted character, as I didn't leave when it told me I was corrupted, and thus saved again, and created another backup whith my corrupted one.

That system only backed it up, the new one can prevent corrupt saves.
