Lower drop rates? Why would you say that? because of health?

In my lan group we have a lot of hp on the servers, not very much different from the internet. Infact, with the coordination and support, everyone gets the items they want and it doesn't take a lot of runs.

This is what happens with a short community we have right now, and then there are people who think something like this could be easy to face if the mod were to become popular... I really can't see anyway to stop people of this type to show up and messing up with everyone else.

This might be some fail troll like zun, or some of those guys that were following him back then.

I don't really see much of a problem with trolls if the mod were to become more 'popular'. We've become pretty good at spotting them from a distance and they, with one small thread, can be banned from over half of the server list. (Zero tolerance policy for the win.) I don't see why you're making a big deal of trolls in a mod which is mostly controlled by a few individuals.

I haven't seen these type of players since like 2009 which is good, but i do remember some moron making me overflow with all the spamming on ms_snow when i was peacefully having fun at the time.
This is exactly what i want to avoid, since im all the time doing hard maps and the likes, i wont like to see some moron join the_wall for example after i been 1 hour in it, then decides it would be funny to crash the server or spam random crap and piss me off.

Sorry for pesterin ya RKS but thanks and your welcome ^_^ im just trying to do my part for the mod any way I can, even if it means weeding out trolls its still some form of support :3. I too am tired of all the mic spammers like liam, or people like chucklesthecheat whom just likes to spam insults and laugh at players no matter how respectable...had he have insulted a supporter or a donor then stuff woulda rolled down hill real quick...you know the stuff lol.

But yea ill keep it in mind to email ya instead, I will continue to do my part for the community cause right now its a community effort that can help maintain the mods stability and fun ...lets keep the trolls on a strictly NPC basis XD.

Yeah yeah... but i can't recover lost time spent on a map due to some idiotic act from other players that join the server im in, while im doing things my way. It's not like i don't want to see people join, but when im doing long @ss maps like the_wall, and some idiot decides to show up and do a votemap for nightmare_thornlands while im trying to kill ihotohr and i get killed because of the pop up vote menu or when some other idiot shows up with a torkbow and gets killed in 3 hits and it crashes on stairs part at the_wall. This is just an example of two of them idiotic acts that i have seen not long ago, there are plenty more, still.

Atm, i haven't seen any trolls around in-game. Maybe cola cloa is close to being a troll, since he is annoying with all the item requests and mindless phrases that don't make any sense.

Even if new trolls come along, they'll just get banned, so IMO no reason not to try to bring more people to msc.

True, but that will always be a risk. IMO, the risk of this happing though, is small, because evidence can be pulled to either condemn or redeem the person in question. Like chat logs.

To bring up a good figure, think the riddler from batman...he puts people through a riddle and if they cant solve it in time they die, much to our dismay we put trolls through a riddle of trust...will they ninja? maybe, will they beg or spam chat? possably...for these reasons we need to slowly weed them out before its an infestation while still advertising and making the mod more recognizable.

Im not saying go advertise and let the gates fly open...and im not saying close those gates and keep the community barred in either, we just need troll management is all. Everyone has ideas but only as a group can we make any of them work, thats why this mod rests more on the players than it does the devs, the devs have the power to fix it but its up to us as players to help them see this kind of behavior and report it so that we dont get swamped with noobies that like to annoy us and other future players.

I have worked with a few noobies and there ARE good ones to work with trust me, not everyone new is a troll so we gotta use logs and stuff so we can pick out the trolls from the players. That dont mean you HAVE to do anything either, just a simple statement to elaborate my ideas a bit more and to help any other players reading this to know whats good behavior from bad behavior.

I can't believe I'm reading this. Every multiplayer game tries to pull anyone in. If you like it, you play it. People who troll will get bored and/or banned. I don't see why we have to try and come up with a different method of dragging people in.

Why the hell do we need to anything like this. These people are NEW, and will need some HELP when starting their characters. If you want to stop begging and looting then tell them how we, the community, feel about it. I don't see why we need to have any sort of probation. Just communicate with them and stop breathing down their necks. We'll see who the trolls are if they don't listen to any advice that we've given them. I don't get how, in many other games, you encounter a lot of potential griefers and 'trolls' yet when MSC has two or three you people act like it's a god damned pandemic. Stop this train of thought, stop it now. We don't need to go 1984 on their asses...

!!! They should have to pay me 30$ a month for the first 6 months if we accept them too ... That would let us know who the real trolls are.
