This game needs some items to be easier to obtain, as well as removing player requirements for drops. With the mod being dead right now, everybody trying to get certain items is screwed.

On a sort of related note, I'll donate $10 to the mod if I can get a steam crossbow and summon bear scroll.
Or if anybody would like to make $10 and has both the aforementioned items....

You can have the Items you wish for, if it isn't already done, by now.

what the f*ck did i just read in the end...

I don't agree so much with your statement about the items ending up easier to obtain, i would prefer seeing all unique items in certain maps removed completly and use forge questing to get them, find X ingredient in a map, then go fetch ingredient Y and possibly ingredient Z, voilá, you forge an item of your choice and will likely get to use gold more often, plus people will be entertained travelling throughout the maps finding ingredients they need (these need to be more generous in terms of % drop).

This is how it should be done, it's a late change but it's something i would like to see. The current forge we have is a nice example of how we should be able to obtain items, plus we should be able to "upgrade" certain weapons using forge too, example: forge novablade, then use novablade to forge shadowfire blade, and so on.

He is an old member, what's the point of doing this when everybody already knows about it?
If he needs help he can do the usual thing and ask people to join his game...

Newcomers are more of an issue, but if they are brought here when help is needed. Then it might work out for them if they ask.

Though that donation business for items is silly honestly, i think i have a few of each in storage or alts....

a good reason to obtain rare items easier would be to add an option that lets you choose between:
Pots (no drop-boost(normal, just like it is right now))
No Pots (drop-boost(you can't sip any pots but got an good chance to get rare items))

Like this it would be even possible to obtain rare items, yet having like 6 800+ chars on a hard map without using pots, it would screw the system while everyone getting any rare item just like that, so thinking of an idea to make it easier yet bugfree is hard

I like that idea. There is a game called Vindictus that actually has a three way system where items drop on chance(rare), ingredients drop to craft the items(common), and finally a token system called seals that gives you a seal every time you complete the area. You can use seals as a form of currency to by items that drop in that area so if you are so unlucky to keep getting the wrong ingredients or items you can run it twice as much as anybody else has to and just buy it with your seals. MSC only really needs the ingredient level though cause we wouldn't have 5 different ingredients per map that Vindictus has(which often results in having 20 of one ingredient and none of the other one that you need).
