and now kicking off my monsters thread id like to present a model i started on like 20 mins ago the skeleton warrior and perhaps skeleton archer.

its probably the most accurate skull ive made with out going over board with polys.

and if there are any good skinners who want to skin this when im done please speak up, i blow at skinning :oldcry:

That is much much better than the hooded skeletons, really!



I remember the 1.1 skeletons they had some sort of, thing

coming out of their chest, and no hood.

ya i guess, cuz they are obviously old and crossbows are a new fangled thing those crazy kids invented. :D so i guess ill make the bow, itll have spikes comming out of it and maybe ull be able to pick it up :D

sweet! I saw a pretty cool bow online where the middle was all normal but the edges had blades on front of them, so it was like half valdis (dual sided one handed blade) and half bow.

does anyone here know how to make transparent textures for models?

like when you are mapping you use the blue backgrounds and the texture starts with { and then the name, and the last color on the palette has to be blue, i did that but it didnt work for some odd reason. because there is a model on a svencoop map that has transparent leaves texture on a model. and i wanted to harness that power to make the skeleton look cooler so i would have to waste a bunch of polys.

make em have longbows.. then make like unique skeleton archers have godly bows! we will all bow down to them in fear!! eek!

YOU DONT GOT TIME TO MAKE A PROFILE
I have a model with parts that are supposed to be transparent. I use a monster_furniture entity, and i set it up the same you would set up an illusioinary brush, but the blue parts would still show up. I would also like to know how to make this work
