Here's a small attempt at making Thothie's gigantic to-do list a bit smaller:

If you're a mapper and if you need to find a nice place to 'connect' your map with the rest of Daragoth, then why don't you have a look at these unused transitions?
About half of the following transitions are so-called "future transitions" (i.e. you are free to decide where they lead to), the other half are supposed to go to places that have already been determined.

Click on the name of a transition to see what it looks like.

Aluhandra Desert - West (aluhandra2)
To the Aluhandra Desert - East - Past the Dread Scorpions and Thunderbirds.
Future transition #01 - Right next to the previous one.
Future transition #02 - After the first Shahaddar Thunderfist.

The Haunted Castle (b_castle)
Future transition - After the final treasure chest.

The Bloodrose Valley (bloodrose)
To the Melanion Ruins - Down in the valley, close to the transition to the Thornlands.
To the Overmountains - Up high in the cliffs, near the troll cave.

The Cleicert Temple (cleicert)
Future transition #01 - At the spawn.
Future transition #02 - Where the Shahaddar orcs spawn.
Future transition #03 - At the very end of the temple.

The Plains of Daragoth (daragoth)
Future transition - Behind the waterfall just outside Deralia, after breaking some rocks.

The Forgotten Outpost (foutpost)
To the Badlands - At the spawn.
To the Orc Stronghold - Near the warboss.

Gate City (gatecity)
Future transition - Somewhere in the upper levels of the cave outside the city, near the goblins.

The Second Island of Dread (islesofdread2)
To the Third Island of Dread - Very close to the crater.

The Secret Isle (isle)
Future transition #01 - Right next to the mysterious stone structure with the wooden planks.
Future transition #02 - At the end of the cave filled with orcs and goblins.
Future transition #03 - After getting out of the spider section of the sand cave.

The Dangerous Pass (keledrosprelude2)
Future transition - Near where the giant black bear shows up, just outside the ladder going down to the ice djinn.

The Kharaztorant Cult Fortress (kfortress)
To a Dragon Lair - After beating Kruxus.

The Dark Caves (mscave)
Future transition - In Darrelin's basement, past the wooden barrels.
To the Sewer Ride - In Darrelin's basement, on the boat, at the bottom of the ladder.

The Frozen Summit (ms_snow)
To Eswen Hathelon - Behind the Ice Bone Lord's throne.
Future transition - Just outside the Marogar orc camp.
To the Tundra - Through the gate at the spawn, then straight ahead.

Quest: The Swamps of Sorrow (ms_swamp)
To the Wyrm - Right next to the wooden bridge.

Quest: The Town (ms_town)
To the Tower - On the roof of the largest house near the spawn.

Wicard Oven (ms_wicardoven)
To the Aluhandra Desert - East - Past the gate next to where Voldar shows up.
Future transition - In the secret cave with the slime.

Ocean Crossing (oceancrossing)
To the Tundra - After beating the Marogar orcs.

Eswen Mallan (sfor)
Future transition #01 - In the cliffs near the transition to the Haunted Castle.
Future transition #02 - At the end of the underwater tunnel, past the transition to the Halls of Charthane.

The Shahaddar Palace (shad_palace)
To the Shahaddar Village - After escaping the throne room.

The Bandit's Keep (the_keep)
Future transition - After escaping the keep.

The Wall (the_wall)
To the Caverns of Frost - After slaying the Cold One.
To the Hunderswamp - At the spawn.
To the Bleak - At the part where Frosty breaks through a wall, across the broken bridge.
To the Wall - East - Right behind Ivicta.

The Umulak Tomb (umulak)
Future transition - After slaying the pharaoh.

World Walker series I - part three (ww3d)
To World Walker series II - After beating Sir Geric.

Extremely valuable resource, sticky?!

EDIT: There's an empty trans in keledrosprelude2, near the ladder down to the Ice Djinn, although I intend to use it, it's empty as of now.

Stickied, but I r thinking there's gotta be a few more, just can't recall where exactly. Thinking there was an open, above ground one in Daragoth, but it may just be my imagination. Might not be hard to toss one in though.

The Keledrosprelude transition has no brush on it, I dun think, so it's hard to put a transition in there, but not impossible. The original plan was to put a transition to The Badlands there, with Foutpost just beyond.

I might carve another forest transition into Sfor for Orc_for - might be worth it. Clipnode count is a bit high, as the map is so large, but it might still be doable, depending on what cliptype Sfor was using (can't recall off hand).

Just looked: at ground level there's three used transitions (helena/deralia/mines) and an unused one which is already in the list (waterfall).

I'm not sure it would make much sense to put orc_for in Eswen Mallen. I do recall reading somewhere in the lore that Eswen Mallen had been cursed during the age of blood and is now in a state of perpetual night. Orc_for, if I remember the screenshots correctly, has a day skybox. Furthermore, Eswen Mallen already leads to a million different places. Wouldn't it be better to use orc_for to expand the world map in a different area?

It'd be quite nice if you could place orc_for in between thornlands and bloodrose. It's quite clear that you travel through a forest when traveling to bloodrose because of the forest visuals.
If you put orc_for in between thornlands and bloodrose it'd solve the whole problem with Edana being twenty paces from the aluhandra desert thing.

Our world map really does need some fixing. There are too many transitions that aren't smooth or don't make any sense. Edana shouldn't be so close to the desert, for example. Orc_for is a perfect opportunity to fix some of these flaws and I'd rather not see it wasted as an unconnected map, or, even worse, be made to contribute to the problem.

Easy solution: Make them all transition to Edana like the beginning of Kfortress... ermm. wait....

I am currently working to come up will a good map with a lot of lore behind it, if anyone would like to help my brain, feel free to send me a pm...

I got a map thats nearing complettion, I just have to add monsters now, and I'd like to claim a transition.

I want to use the one in Daragoth behind the waterfall. daragoth_to_future01.jpg

If it's not taken already.

That's the transition I'm using for ecave :V But if your map is nearing completion, you take it.

Should note there are new transitions open at Sorc_Villa... In the well and the cave where you teleport back from the well. Plus the not-so-open transition to Aluhandra. WIth the exception of Aluhandra, they are setup not to trip though.

Mappers should also note that there's no way into the well, when the village is hostile.

Goes to Undamael already (not actually a transition, but another map area). It'll only open if you have enough hitpoints to trigger it though.

There is a fancy unused transition in Sfor at the end of the water tunnel past Challs, however... And if you wanted to expand the Calrian ruins, the source is simple enough that we might be able to tag something on.

The music in that video is the best thing they could have used.
