You will cause people to drop for the server and lose their damage points and the pots they were using. If we're really unlucky, you'll cause the server to crash when we're loading Forsuth onto the lift.

Haha I remember on Umulak and later the_wall that one level 21 guy who used his mic all the time who just didn't quit.
(I had enough sense to leave during umulak :oldlol: )

At times like these, I wish there was some command that automatically booted people with less than 700 HP. But there isn't... Why there is a "kick people with more than n HP" command (Thothie's 400 HP max server) but no "kick people with less than n HP" command is completely beyond me.

Anyway, I can only suggest: play the_wall on a server with a maximum of six slots.

And just to repeat, for all the selfish dumbasses out there, ASK if you can join or better yet: just don't join at all.

Also: the game manages to "remember" exactly how many bludgeon hammer bludgeon rages you used, and how many times you died to certain bosses, yet it can't remember your damage points? If that got fixed, at least that'd solve a part of the frustration. It's pretty bad to get disconnected at 200 000 damage points, only to have some Taiwanese guy 'steal' the round (and the reward) from you after you've reconnected, just because he didn't disconnect. Almost happened to SilentDeath this one time.

Because bringing in new players is harder than keeping old ones. ;) However, it wouldn't do you much good in this case, as the HP limitter system doesn't actually kick in until they've actually joined and spawned.

This is a question I often ask myself. The game is designed to, it just doesn't want to... Albiet, death to boss is tracked on the boss, and bludgeon tracking doesn't involve as many vars, and neither happens as often as damage points change... Still - should work - just don't. :/

CMD started this. He has access to the script system. He could look into it. *hint* *hint* ;)

( PLR_TOTAL_DMG tracks dmgpoints / 1000, game_master->add_player_steamid deals with returning players, game_master->add_score tallies points on the GM side, player/player_main->game_damaged_other deals with adding dmg points on the player and sending the GM tracker every 1000. )

I have the script up on my screen and I was looking at it last night. I'm confuse as to why it wouldn't work, and the annoying part is trying to test it.

Might I suggest you switch it up to a script-array instead of token string? Isn't at wonky and you won't be limited on players >_>

Maybe after you get that function that lets me pull array data from the GM without calling another external. ;)

But, TBH, I dun think that's the problem, as it seems it never restores points, regardless of the number of players.

It might be trying to restore points before the player is fully loaded. I'd have to go over that bit again.

CMD, I guess, only has one SteamID or rig, and thus is going to have a fun time testing this. :/

I think, if you're on a map for longer than 30-60 minutes, a vote should pop up asking "Do you want to lock this server?" because you know raids like the_wall takes up your whole f*cking day.

this also applies to old_helena, later lodagond maps, and shadpalace, in laments terms ask before joining or don't join at all

Need admin and/or rcon, at least.

Considering making a vote-lock function that would generate a password... Would have to make it optional, as some admins might not like being locked out of their own server (although they could get the generated password from console.) Would have to make sure it didn't overwrite any existing password too (not hard), and be sure it released the password after folks left.

Really though, just need to make game stable.

Somehow, last time I was on a Wall run with RiPs, I constantly got overflows as soon as I clicked on my char (worked fine on any other server)

Yes! I remember this. Haha, I am amazed you took a picture of that Silent! I even recall that we finished the map and got loot... I got a symbol 3 myself that I traded for a Lightning Rod.
Anyways enough memory demonstration... I also agree on some sort of votelock function. It would be cool if it could tell you who was joining though and you could allow them in. For instance if the players votelocked and Zun tries to join we could deny him, but allow Humansteak in if he was trying to join. Not sure how that would work, I assume it could show steam ID but unless you know who it is thats not very helpful... just my $.02

Hmm.. well if your trying to refrain people from joining a PUBLIC server.. than you should host a PRIVATE server...

Just seeing as limitations on a public server is very unfair, if the problem is the map, than we should be complaining at the devs.
