A single light shines down, upon a large meeting table. A voice echoes through the hall,
"Have we our vessel?"
As this voice rings, a black-clad figure, accompanied by empty suits of armor, steps forward, and with a wave of his hand, says
"All preparations have been made, Venevus...But what proof do we have that this will work?"
"It is fated to work, the methods are inscribed in this spellbook"
He raises a tome, which exudes an aura of pure evil. The light shining down on the table becomes warped and bent, as if the tome were a portal into emptiness.
"This tome was recovered by my lackeys from where Lor Malgoriand was struck down, deep deep below the earth...And with it, my brothers, we shall bring a Fallen Loreldian into this world, and (nodding at a bound warrior) instill him into this prisoner."
Venevus, Keledros, and the other two at the table begin to laugh, which too echoed through the hall.

This event takes place before you encounter Keledros and Venevus in their respective lairs, as killing them after they've been killed is a paradox, no? ;)
At any rate, they plan to bring another Fallen into this world, using the tome, and sacrificing a warrior in the process...
This is a fortress/lair style map, which I have not quite determined how it is to be designed yet. The party will have to fight through Keledros, Venevus the Corrupter, and two other wizards, Zyeros the Devastator, and Indrios the Harbinger. Zyeros will use fire magics, and perhaps earth if we can, and Indrios will use lightning and wind magics. Both will be able to summon minions of their respective elements.
As the adventurer, you must navigate the fortress, and defeat these wizards, before they bring a Fallen into this dimension again. You will combat each, but you may not necessarily kill them ;). In addition, you must destroy the Fallen Tome, so that this will not happen again...

At this point, no one has taken this job, and I want someone reliable that will be done promptly...The sooner that there's a finished map, the sooner scripts are written...Models will not be an issue, just need two reskins, which I should be able to do.

If you want to work on this map PM me, or reply here.
As I said I have not drawn a layout yet, but the sooner I get a mapper, the sooner I make the layout...Cause and effect :D

As for where this map might fit...I believe that it would be on the way to the ruins of Melanion, if not branching from there...Preferably the first, since we don't have anyone making Melanion so far as I can tell.

Features that I have already decided upon:
 Boss oriented map, with each wizard having an obstacle course.
 Indrios being a flying boss, due to his mastery of wind and lightning. His boss room shall be similar to the wind tunnel section of HL1...His means of attacking are not going to be disclosed.
 Different versions of Venevus and Keledros, that focus on poison for Venevus and perhaps summoning for Keledros (Keledros the Conjurer, perhaps).
 Minions of each boss...However, they shall not be within the boss room, and will not be infinitely respawning...Don't expect light resistance though ;)
 Boss rooms that do NOT have IKICKUIN2PIT architecture.

You could pull a "Keledros' and Venevus' spirits return to this world for their final task* thing to keep that whole space time continuity thing.

Arg, you've been reading my mind, have you? I already have concepts for bringing back fallen Loreldians, and unfortunately, parts of your plot overlap mine. Therefore, you must die.

Have you now? Great minds think alike :D

EDIT: Incidentally, this circle o evil wizards doesn't necessarily bring a Fallen into this dimension...They would get away for it too, if it weren't for those meddling kids with weapons ;)

Sabre, I like the idea for this map, and I was just wondering: will the players have to fight all four wizards at the same time? That would be pretty cool.

I'm guessing that there's going to be a very interesting transition between them or we fight all 4 or we kill them in their own rooms.

Right now for the plans, I have chosen to make a central nexus, in which you must fight each wizard and his minions, in order to break a seal on the final room which contains the tome and the captured knight...To make it more interesting I've considered putting a deadline on the whole map, like the spell is working on its own, and you have to break the seal and destroy it in x amount of minutes, before the Fallen is brought forth, and escapes into the world...As for fighting all the wizards at once, that would be pretty sweet, but considering that Venevus is a tough cookie(for some) as it were, that would probably not be ideal, unless we make a younger, less powerful version, preferably one with only poison magic, as per his title...The same being applied to Keledros; giving him a specific element and title...Maybe even a fifth wizard? I dunno, gotta get a mapper first ;)

...but thats not all! You have to do it while balancing on a tight-rope over a 9999999 damage trigger_hurt.

and his minions
Oh my gosh...

I want it to be a higher level map...Mind you, I should've splained my concept a little more in-depth...Each wizard will have an obstacle course to get to, which will have some minions guarding the respective course (Except for one, which I have a really cool idea for)...I do not intend to put the minions in the boss chamber, nor will I allow kickj00intolava boss rooms...So far the only boss idea I have planned is for that of the lightning/wind wizard, whom I want to fly...Basically I want the room to be like the wind tunnel in HL1, where you have to use the fan gust to get to the top of the ceiling...In my case however, the wizard will do this, and begin hitting you with lightning, until you hit him back with some poison(Which for some reason is the anti-lightning in this game). Point being, the minions will guard the chambers, but not be in them. I want some cool and unique boss fights, not the standard I KICK U IN2 LAVA LOLOLOLOL fights...I'm about variety :D

So no Blacksmith-esque fights? O: But I like him kicking me in the lava! It means he doersn't get any HP.

Ya know, you idea people... >_> Ya think ya could at least draw up a layout or something? I mean, there's no shortage of ideas - but I've run into more than one mapper who said, "I'd get to work on something, if only I had a layout" - and I keep sending them to random dungeon creator websites. ;)

Well, I had an idea for a Mario World-type map. I haven't really thought it out. It started when someone said they had a really horrible time trying yo create a bob-omb. I don't know how it'd fit in the storyline anyways. Random vortex to another world? :|

Yes, no Blacksmith-esque fights, I'm striving for unique bossrooms, and unfortunately almost every boss room currently involves lava or pits.

Wink

Heh, I do have my layout designed, I'll put it up as soon as I finish my final paper...Just my concluding argument left.

Alright, here's a not to scale design I drew up;
mapconcept1.gif
I shall show the other sketches I have to the mapper that takes up this project.
Mind you, I do not want to post the ideas I have for each pathway, and the other boss rooms, due to:
1. Spoilers ;)
2. I am not sure if some of my ideas will work, and therefore do not want to promise what I cannot deliver.
3. I dunno some of em yet

This map will be rather compact, but I want the boss rooms and the final chamber to be somewhat lavish, especially the Indrios one.
@Thothie or a mapper:
Can my concept of said boss chamber be put into reality? I don't want a giant ventilation fan at the bottom...But you get the idea ;)

Yeah, the "Central hub" reminds me of the spawn area of Calruin2 but with two extra paths.

Yeah, the "Central hub" reminds me of the spawn area of Calruin2 but with two extra paths.

I can see how they can be compared, however, the drawing as I said is not to scale, there shall be a pathway to the hub, with various obstacles that I shall impart to the mapper.
