Crap... (VAC)

I just got myself VAC banned. I originally wanted to play MS:C with the bloom mod, then I forgot i had it installed, so i went to play NS, and joined a VAC secure server. Now i'm waiting until VAC's delay enables it to ban me... =(

Gosh I'm so stupid. O well, i guess it won't be that bad to shell out another $10, and maybe i'll get HL2 on my next account.

Heck no! I got a crappy Radeon x1600 Pro and i still get 60+ fps (see screenshots, net_graph 3 in them).

Bloom is done by taking whats on the screen, taking a picture, and then bluring that picture in the lighter areas

Effectively its drawing everything twice, with a little bit of "working out" power

I did notice that sometimes the text had glows...If that can be done away with this would be great for MS:C.

About the "GIB needs toning down", its real.. As far as i can see. Make something or convert the GIB to HL2, stick it as a replacement Shotgun (smg, etc.) HL2 model, turn on HDR to "Full" (make sure your vid card supports it), maybe try Lost Coast? Then pull out the 'GIB' and walk outside.

the bloom will keep it at the same intensity where HDR will drop its intensity after being in light for a bit. The whole point of HDR is to mimic what our eyes do.
