Known issues

:?: Starting an HLDS or listenserver with the -num_edicts flag may lead to crashes on some maps.
- (and/or, destroy all of Texas.)

Minor
:idea: Level cap increase failed. :\
:?: Oceancrossing cannon still fubar, yet still, again even.

Aesthetic
:?: Texture scrambling issues when playing for a period of time
:?: Some players report additive render weapons not rendering so in first person, or otherwise rendering incorrectly (Felewyn Shard, Hoarfrost Blade, GIB, etc.)
:?: Disconnecting while dead results in invisible body and armor on reconnect.
:?: Using changelevel instead of votemap or admin_map may cause various texture issues.
:?: Dragon Axe fire breathing alignment
:arrow: Some p_models vanishing into floor
:?: Lack of level up sfx for Polearms (for some players)

Ancient/Perpetual
Known Ancient bugs:
- No Free Edict Errors (ED_Alloc:no free edicts), usually the result of overloading the server in one way or another. You can *try* hosting with the -num_edicts flag, however, this may prevent some maps from loading. We're constantly working to mitigate this bug.
- All entities invisible bug (type kill in console to cure).
- Lights/sprites not going away / sticking to other objects (Sticky client-side effects)
- Occasionally a weapon/spell will stop doing damage until it is unequipped then re-equipped.
- Can't use charge attack in laggy conditions. (Work around: use +special or +uber)
- Sitting animation bugs (sometimes saves to character for awhile)
- All water sometimes goes white (texture stretch bug, restart)
- Typing issues in chat. Especially with European keyboards.
- Various Health/mana indicator madness (see also yonder)
- Small sack holds stuff it should not.
- Ticket Bank freaks if you have more than one of the ticket or item you are trying to trade
--> Galat chest does not have this issue.
- Double attack bug, most prominant with xbows
- All tomahawks appear as fire tomahawks in third person

Also Not liable to go away soon:
- Some monsters still capable of some acts while frozen (jumping, etc.)
- Orion Bow jamming sometimes, (I've no idea how to fix this without dropping the whole charged weapon concept.)
- Jumping from server to server without closing HL screws with FN functionality (solution: Close half-life before joining another game.)
- Can't push monsters while under the effect of leadfoot potion

Resolved from FEB2011a:
- Bloodrose elemental triggers being finicky about what spells/weapons will activate them
- Mayor letter not appearing in chest
- Some bolts/arrows refusing to stack
- Various Zorc behavior/name issues in mscave
- Oceancrossing cannon still fubar
- Still no tomes for Ice Bolt nor Rebuke Undead
- Can advanced to next section without killing Mummy Warlord in Catacombs
- Some monsters lacking XP (some boars, firegiantghouls - please report others)
- Fangtooth tome misnamed scroll
- Some bad inventory icon assignments
- Jade and Emerald are only the same color to straight men
- ms_lildude having wrong gender on female characters
- Incorrectly skinned chests on Bloodrose

Hrmm... Was working fine on my test char at 42-43... I wonder if we have more than one define for max levels that just stops you at 40. I shall have to ask MiB. :/

Getting hunk errors on my dedicated server when I pull out a demon bludgeon hammer, stopped when I removed the -num_edicts flag from my server.

Great boar in orc_for can be big trouble if he gets serious and camps our spawn point, me and 5 other players got spawn killed about 50 times by 2 great boars V, this is kinda redicolous. I think making the spawn place a safe place would be a good idea and avoid things like this, me and a few other high lvls barelly loaded our characters when both boars where there just hitting us. >_>

Hrmm... I figured with enough power on the server to boost them to level 5, you'd be able to handle them, but I suppose maybe you weren't all there, or couldn't all spawn at once. I'll put a level cap on them next patch, or reduce their multipliers. Maybe stick something in where they calm down after killing the player or monster that offended them as well. (Actually, that alone may do it - as then if you get killed, it's probably your own damned fault.)

You normally have to start the fight to get them going, but there's always a chance they may wander into goblin territory and get in a fight with one of the goblins you left behind. As it currently stands, should they survive it, you'll be next on their "list of things they want to f*ck up today".

Yeah. *sigh* I can't figure what it is, but the viable num_edicts flag seems to vary with every patch. The 2000 you were using on the RKS servers is right out on Edana now (and somehow killed the Texas RKS servers to the point where they couldn't even be restarted).

It's an engine thing, so I really doubt we're going to be able to fix this, and it may just get worse over time. I *hope* it doesn't eventually cause the error in the default range (hopefully it's a matter only caused by redefinition), but if it does, we're going to be in real trouble.

Given that the -num_edicts flag isn't hardly viable at all, at the moment (unless you should find some new viable level through experiment), I suspect I should go through Catacombs and Dragooncaves, and axe the various sprites involved in the next patch, as the parameter is likely not going to serve as a work around for that limit.

We had 2 crashes on dragooncaves no other problems for me.
Otherwise i LOVE this update. As it actually brought some content to low-mid lvl's that i can enjoy.

Yeah, I suspect it's all the sprite torches causing an edicts cash (see -num_edicts discussion above). :\

People seem to be randomly getting bolts stuck in their feet which can be picked up and dropped, but they disappear upon putting them in your pack.

I had that happen with a GHA on me, somebody pulled it out of my ass and handed it back to me. Upon opening my inventory, a GHA stack appeared there for a second and then was gone.

Mayor quest still seems to be broken, unless I'm not doing something right or not meeting some requirement. First few attempts I had the guards sic'd on me, with nothing to speak of in the chest, and next few attempts he told me about the compartment and still nothing in it to speak of. Unless there's some interim step that I'm missing somewhere. :\

Also, I was in orc_for, and one of the Shadow Goblin novices was immune to all damage types. Don't know if that's a bug or just a freak occurence, but needless to say it was aggravating.

Oceancrossing cannon still cant hit ships... i cant see any diffrence at all since last patch. tested 5 times. atleast 1 try for each type of attacking ship.

Hrmmm... I loaded your char up on my local server and your bank looks fine. :\

The scramble you screenshotted looks like it's trying to load a broken item, but that shouldn't be possible with the bank, as it only keeps script names. A bugs script name would result in the item not being added. :/

Somebody suggested I restart the game and the bank was fine after that. Odd. :|

Sounds similar to the issue we ran into with someone else involving a golden axe and an unbreakable golden axe in the same chest. I tweaked the way the includes work on those to avoid a possible blunder with that, but it may have not done the trick. If restarting the game fixed it, it may have something to do with the way the items initiate. The bank doesn't store actual items, but only script names, so if it fixes itself after a restart, it should be alright, I suppose. It suggests the items in question would have similar issues if they were put in a normal treasure chest though.

Hoping it has something to do with a stack reaching 0 after its contents has been shifted to another stack, thus they aren't actually losing anything, at least - it just isn't removing itself proper. :\

FUUUUUUUUU... Meh, works on listen server, works on my local DS - I'm going to have to setup a remote machine and test it with lag, or something.

More stuff about dragooncaves,
It always crashes if there's 5 or more players, and has a chance of crashing with 4 players. (I had two successfull runs of 4 players, and all tries after that ended up in a crash). So whoever wants to complete that map just should votelock when it reaches 3 players.

The crashing in dragooncaves is from no free edict errors, but if you try to use the -num_edicts flag on this map at all it'll crash with that other error as soon as someone joins the server.

Me and 4 more players were on dragooncaves, map was working fine untill i decided to open a chest in the map, which caused it to crash randomly after pressing "use" once. Can't see why this happened but it just did...

Seems as if the mana drain on Behr form for the Baer klawz was doubled. Might want to check that bug. The cause may be the attempted increase in level cap. Not sure.

Will investigate further.

4 players is the absolute max dragooncaves can handle without crashing witht he no free edicts error, even gate city has that problem too, crashed with that error when the 5th player connected.

If you speedrun Dragooncaves (by ignoring every enemy except for the ones that need to die to lower the barriers, takes about 5 minutes to beat the entire level on a good run) it can crash even with only 2 people on the server. If it is going to crash, it tends to crash the moment the final barrier before the boss goes down.

Also, the cannon still doesn't work, and the mayor's letter still doesn't appear. At first I thought you "fixed" it by making the "Call the guards" chance 100%, but when he finally accepted me, it still wasn't there.

dem bears in idemarks_tower say they are hostile, but you can walk right to em and pet them.
they don't seem to mind
