I tried to make it a plate version of Cobra Skin Armor.

I've told him a few times, that is pretty much what I'm trying to do. He says it's to dark, just because the Cobra Skin is bright green.

It'll be a bit brighter in game than in the JHLMV.

Also, I've attempted to add scales
It's not great, but it's somewhat of scales.....
It became damn bright though..

Try changing the mail. Make it darker. Or gold. Gold would be dope.

Double post.
Tossed download links for the model and Bitmap on the first post.

Edit: Also, tossed ingame screenshots up. ftw.

To be honest, I don't really like the armours with the cobras on them. The green colour already should be enough to make you realize its armour that protects from poison. I just feel that the pictures useless.

All in favor of removation of ze picture?

Edit: I thought ahead of time, and I actually made one without the cobra. The only thing it lacks is the gold mail.
I'll put it up if more people want the picture gone, but if you also want the gold mail, tell me.

I'm going to have to say that while the concept is good, due to the fact that the quality of the cobra picture when viewed in game isn't the best, I'm going to vote no picture. If you were to find a way around the engine nerfing the quality of the skin, I'd be all for keeping the picture though. I also find the gold chain mail nice looking in game, and I would like to see it stay, as long as any background added to the item (creation and history) doesn't outright support the use of the something more dull in colour.

I wouldn't say the picture is nerfed at all. Example:

edana0015.jpg

If anything, Age, desaturate, and emboss it, then recolor it using hue/saturation. Or something. Also try a darker green, around the hue of emerald. I'm just curious ;)

Haha, I'm afraid there's not much you can do to satisfy the majority of people when 3 out of 4 options are tied.
Then again, that's 6 votes, and I play with more than 6 different people each day. :?

Also, Sabre, if at all possible, can you add [email protected] to Steam Friends, as I have questions more conveniently answered via a messenger, rather than thread posts or PMs.

Also I won't have access to my computer from sometime tomorrow to mid Sunday.

Ahh, I suppose then I should elaborate on what I meant. From what I've seen, when there are similar shades of colour being used on a skin, detail can be lost. Unless there's something weird going on on my end that causes that to occur, in which case I should go about fixing that...

Hrm...I dig that hue as well, but I dunno how that would turn out in-game...The brighter green keeps a nice contrast, but that could look muddy. Slap it on some armor and check it out ;)

saber, you dont want an extreme amount of contrast... when it comes to game world/models/textures generally you want them all to flow together as well as possible. contrast is not flow.

This is MS:C! It has no flow!
We must make armor that shines as bright as a thousand suns! A thousand!

The color of chain and the darkness of the green actually look really nice together..
