I still find it weird that a professional like him would piss off a stingray :/

Why? He pissed off a lot of the animals he filmed. The only difference here was that he wasn't ready for what it would throw at him and it got a VERY lucky shot.

He used to work mostly with reptiles and swamp animals, sea animals were a totally different area, which he was unprepared for.

He's the one who wrestles all thoese animals. It had to happen.
