We need to start taking a poll now of all people who may wish to play MSS upon release.

The poll question is as follows: Does your current computer support full HD resolution ( 1920*1080 pixels )

We need to find out what percentage of the MS community (whom intends to play MSS) if they will be capable of this screen resolution.

Your responses can be as simple as ( yes/ready now ) or (no can do homie). You may also add information if you intend to upgrade your computer in the near future.

This is by no means a timeline statement on the mod, but for now base your response assuming there would be a Beta in Q1, 2016.

Yes, but I hate that format, and refuse to play games that way, I generally use my desktop resolution or windowed for sake of convenience. (And as I'm old, 1920*1080+ desktop makes non-scaling text too hard to read.)

I do hope this is not a HUD element or icon thing - ya'd damn well better be scaling elements on the HUD and GUI, and thus not need to ask. ;)

Yup. I only get few issues with latest game titles all maxed out, so i guess MSS will be a piece of cake to handle going all out.

This is good news! You could actually make this a real poll for neater record keeping.

Verily, I too can support that resolution. I doth wonder if my computer can handle it though, but I make no promises. Nonetheless, I accept this, this, whatever this is. Can I stop the Ye Olde English speak now?

My computer supports 1080p resolution. On a side note, why not look at the steam hardware survey for the specs of the community at large?

The MSC cross-section of the overall steam community is based on a game in GoldSource. We wanted a general indicator of the need for backwards compatibility. :)

Meh, sadly, you need a monster of a computer to play even Goldsrc now. The ~1998 computers it was originally designed for probably couldn't pull more than 15fps in today's Half-Life, and not more than 5 in MSC, if they could load either at all. The engine's bloated up like Tetsuo on that damned Akira movie, and MSC isn't all that far behind. (Also, wow, that's a crappy re-dub.)

Sick thing is - my tiny Intel GMA netbook gets about 50fps in Half-Life2 - and about 10 in MSC. So there's that whole lack of backwards compatibility thing going as well.

Regardless of the requirements, alot of people will play this not only because of its own merit as a newly released version of a game, but because it takes some of us back to games we grew up with. I remember playing the original release when i was very young and ive been playing offline for many years just because i dont have internet for my computer most of the time but whatever happens to this mod, at least keep whats already made of it available to download even if the servers go offline. More people appreciate this than the number that says it in these forums, dont forget that
