    I can only answer first one. Pay the gaurd 50 or buy an apple and give it to the gaurd thats before the mayors house.

    there is, if you dont you can set all settings good yourself... (or not :P, dont know, but this is what i have done :P)

    re-install, and then download patch here: http://mercury.walagata.com/w/kuroneko/MSSteam.zip put the files in your MS map and play :).
