Summoning Spells

From Master Sword Wiki

Summoning Spells summon creatures to do your bidding. Their health and damage output is determined by your total Spell Casting level.

Summoned creatures can be commanded by inputting chat strings into local chat. Some phrases are:

Kill - Tells all summoned units in the area to attack the creature or object you're currently looking at, be it friend or foe. (Game limitation/bug: summoned creatures cannot harm "human faction" monsters or players)

Attack/Hunt - Tells all summoned units in the area to search for hostile targets to attack.

Defend - Tells your summons will stay nearby and only engage nearby creatures. (This is their default behavior on spawn.)

Follow/Come/Return - Makes all summoned units in the area follow you. (Disengages from combat, ignores all enemies in favor of following you.)

Vanish/Dismiss/Unsummon - Makes all summoned in the area vanish. (Unsummmons)

Guard/Stay/Stop - Stops and guards the current position until ordered to do otherwise.

Report/Status - Causes summons who hear this to state their current hitpoints and attack value.

Stand - Rat only. Makes all summoned Rats in the area sit on their hind legs and do an emote.

The following commands can be prefixed with "all" to affect all summons on the map, regardless of obstacles or distance: all follow, all defend, all kill, all hunt, all vanish, all stay

A menu with most of these commands can be accessed by clicking +use on a summon. This menu can be used to control individual summons.

Each creature also has it's own hidden custom commands.

Most 'hired' guards also obey a similar set of commands and have their own menu.

Summon Rat - Summon some Rats. Though not useful for killing an enemy, they can be used to distract large or annoying monsters, such as the Virus Consputos (Green Spiders) and Trolls. At Spell Casting level 10 they upgrade to Giant Rats. Requires Spell Casting level 3 to use.

Summon Fangtooth - Step up from the rat summoning series - this is a fast moving plague rat with greater damage, health, and poison attacks. Requires Spell Casting level 12 to use.

Summon Undead/Armored Undead - Summon some Skeletons from the earth. When you have many they can be useful depending on your Spell Casting level. Summoned undead, while much stronger than rats, do not have the immunities to poison and the like associated with normal undead (game limitation/bug). Summon Undead upgrades to Summon Armored Undead with various armor and weapon type layouts at higher spell casting levels. Requires Spell Casting level 9 to use.

Summon Undead Guardian - This summon is very slow, and its attacks relatively weak, but it can hold one or more monsters at bay for a good long time before falling down. Requires Spell Casting level 13 to use.
