Gloams

Gloams are semi-sentient amphibious creatures that, for the most part, congregate on various distant islands. Some have been found in wet areas inland, and there are rumors of more hardy, desert and ice oriented cousins, as well as Gloam inspired constructs made by wizards. The one thing they all have in common is that they are all fast moving and extremely voracious meat eaters.

Ether Gloams either through the experimentation of some wizard or other exposure to strange magic, these Gloams exist between the veil of the real world and the astral beyond, and seem to be able to shift between these two levels of existence at will. Some have speculated that this is actually the natural, final stage of development for Gloam’s, as it is rare that an Ether Gloam can be found without a nest of young Gloams or Gloam eggs nearby. The ability to turn invisible coupled with an all around stronger physique makes these creatures infinitely more dangerous than other Gloams.
