Creating a New Character

From MasterSword Continued Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

When you first run Master Sword: Continued, after you set up your Controls you will need to join a server. Ideally, you want one playing the map 'Edana', because it is a "starter" area, which is safe for low levels and ideal for creation of a new character.

Making your own server is not recommended, as the characters you create there will not be transferred onto FuzNet, the Master Sword: Continued Central Character Service. It is possible to connect your server to Fuznet, but it requires a password now due to exploiting issues. To arrange to be given the password, and for other help with connecting to central, go to the "[FN] FuzNet" forum section or try contacting Blasto121, our current Central Server host, via the forums or email.

You will see the three available character slots on joining. (For a reference picture, see the Interface Guide). These slots may show different sets of characters depending on the settings of the server you joined (some use server-side only characters so you can only play a character that you've created and stored on their server, some use characters stored on the individual player's machine, etc).

After selecting 'Create New' by clicking on the appropriate area of the slot, you will be given the options to type your name, select your gender, and your starting weapon. Note that when choosing a name it is ideal to press the escape key and go to you Options Menu, click on the "Multiplayer" tab, and type your name in the default box to ensure your character gets the proper name. There are 6 options for you to choose for your starting weapon: Knife, Sword, Mace, Axe, Bow, and Magic. This selection is important only in that it gives your character direction from the beginning, these early weapons can soon be abandoned in favor of whatver you'd like to use. Make sure to select your actual gender, because although Master Sword: Continued does not currently allow for a female model, it eventually will, and this choice will affect that!

Once all of this is selected, your character will appear in the Temple of Balance outside of Edana. It can be helpful to talk to the head priest Sembelbin, as he knows a lot about the surrounding areas. For explanation on controls, head to the Controls section, and for an idea of what to do first, see the Getting Started section. Congratulations, your quest has begun!
